Clearday (“Clearday”, “we”, “us”) is an app that helps you track acne with daily face scans and tells you whether new spots look like purging or a breakout. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it to match exactly how the app works.

The short version

1. Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is Parviz Turabov. Contact us at stacksonnat9@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

Scan resultsSpot counts per face zone, inflammation and redness levels, image-quality score, estimated skin type.To track changes over time and run the purging-vs-breakout assessment.
Questionnaire answersSkin type, concerns, where you break out, products and active ingredients you use and when you started them, makeup, habits, picking. To personalize your routine and interpret your scans.
Daily check-ins (health data)Stress level, sleep hours, foods (dairy, sugary foods, whey, fast food), sunscreen use and, only if you turn it on, your cycle phase. To explain what may be contributing to a breakout.
Apple Health sleep (health data)Only if you allow it: nightly sleep duration from Apple Health.Same as above. We only read sleep; we never write to Apple Health.
Approximate locationOnly if you allow it: your device location, rounded to roughly 10 km.To look up the day’s UV index. We store only the UV number, never the location.

Subscription statusWhether you have an active subscription, and purchase identifiers. Payment details are handled by Apple and never reach us.To unlock Premium features.
Usage analyticsWhich screens and features are used (for example “onboarding step viewed” or “scan completed”), app version and device type.To understand where people get stuck and improve the app. Analytics never include photos, scan results, health data, product names or your email.

Reminders are scheduled on your device as local notifications; we don’t need push tokens for them.

3. Face photos and biometric privacy

We use your photos only to analyze visible skin features (such as the number and type of spots). We do not use them for facial recognition, do not create face templates or face geometry to identify you, and do not share them with anyone except the service providers listed below that store and analyze them for us. Photos are stored in a private storage area that only your account can access.

4. How the AI analysis works

When you complete a scan, your photos are uploaded to our private storage and then sent from our server to OpenAI’s API for analysis. We send them with storage turned off. Under OpenAI’s API data policies at the time of writing, API inputs are not used to train OpenAI’s models, and they may be kept for a limited time (generally up to 30 days) only to monitor for abuse. Results are estimates and can be wrong; see our Terms.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use these service providers (“processors”), each bound by contract to use the data only to provide their service to us:

We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, or as part of a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data).

6. Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you connect Apple Health, we read only sleep analysis data. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing, do not sell it, do not share it with third parties for any other purpose, and do not store it in iCloud. You can turn this off at any time in the iOS Health app or in Clearday’s Settings.

7. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

8. How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete all photos (Settings → Delete all photos) or your entire account and all associated data (Settings → Delete all my data) at any time. Deletion is immediate in the app and our live systems; copies in routine backups are removed within 30 days. Analytics events are kept for up to 24 months.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or US state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your data yourself in the app, or email stacksonnat9@gmail.com and we will respond within the time required by law (usually 30 days). You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our hosting provider. Access is restricted per account with database row-level security, so one user can never read another user’s photos or data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of a breach as required by law.

11. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

12. Children

Clearday is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 (or 16 in the EEA and UK) to use it. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
